Founder Message

J.B. Ram, a retired Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), found a new calling after his retirement. He, along with some like minded individuals laid the foundation of Gramin Vikas Parishad (GVP), taking on the role of Secretary for the organization.
He possessed an extensive expertise in wastelands development, plantations, biodiversity conservation, water resource management, agro-forestry, agricultural development activities, and organizing villagers. Under his expert guidance, since 1995 GVP has been deeply involved in the Watershed Development and Management Programme. His dedication and knowledge earned him a position on the Advisory Committee of Watershed at the district level.
Sri Ram's influence extends beyond local initiatives. He served as a member of the National Standing Committee in CAPART (Council for Advancement of People's Action and Rural Technology) within the P.C. Division until 1998, working under the Ministry of Rural Development in New Delhi.
Additionally, Sri Ram worked as a monitor and evaluator for CAPART and the National Wastelands Development Board, under the Government of India. Gramin Vikas Parishad, under Sri Ram's guidance, achieved the status of a National Level Monitor in the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. This recognition underscores the significant impact of Sri Ram's efforts and the organization's contributions to rural development .

Gramin Vikas Parishad (GVP) envisions a society where individuals live with self-respect, dignity, and harmony in a healthy environment. GVP has undertaken a multitude of initiatives which outlines a holistic approach, interconnecting environmental conservation with socio-economic development.
By fostering biodiversity, facilitating agricultural development, encouraging soil and water conservation, generating livelihood opportunities, enhancing health and well-being, providing training and skill development, and strengthening community-based organizations, we create a positive feedback loop that empowers communities to achieve sustainable growth and resilience.
At GVP, we strive to expand our presence and deepen our impact, ensuring that development reaches the remotest and most vulnerable sections of society. Our mission is guided by the vision of Sri.
